Firm Continues Strategic Expansion with Transactional Tax Expertise.
BETHESDA, MD (November 30, 2020) – Selzer Gurvitch Rabin Wertheimer & Polott, PC (“Selzer Gurvitch”), announced the appointment of Michael Fellerman as Partner. An experienced transactional tax attorney with a focus on domestic and international real estate and business transactions, Mr. Fellerman will be responsible for corporate and business taxes as well as real estate, personal and fiduciary income, estate and gift taxes, tax-exempt matters and will support tax assessments and appeals.

At Selzer Gurvitch, Mr. Fellerman will advise clients on all tax aspects of domestic and international real estate and business transactions and draft the necessary documents of exchange, including sales, merger, financing and sophisticated partnership agreements. He will draw on his experience structuring transactions and entities using C corporations, S corporations, partnerships, limited partnerships and limited liability companies. Mr. Fellerman will also provide counsel on partnerships and joint ventures, business planning, mergers and acquisitions, business and real estate acquisitions and sales and private placement offerings of securities.
Prior to joining Selzer Gurvitch, Mr. Fellerman was a partner at Abramoff Neuberger LLP and a Principal at Neuberger, Quinn, Gielen, Rubin & Gibber, P.A., both in Baltimore, Maryland. From 2015 to 2017, he served as shareholder and co-chair of the tax department at Shulman Rogers in Potomac, Maryland. Previously, he was a partner and chairman of the tax department at Linowes & Blocher in Bethesda, Maryland and Windels Marx Lane & Mittendorf in New York City. Mr. Fellerman also has experience working for a Big Four accounting firm.
Mr. Fellerman earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and Finance degree from the University of Maryland, College Park before earning his juris doctor cum laude from the University of Baltimore School of Law. He holds a Master of Laws degree in Taxation from New York University School of Law. Mr. Fellerman is admitted to practice law in New York and Maryland and eligible to waive into Washington, D.C. and Virginia. He is a member of the Montgomery County Bar Association, the Maryland State Bar Association, the New York Bar Association and the American Bar Association.
The appointment of Mr. Fellerman marks the continuation of a strategic growth plan for Selzer Gurvitch. Earlier this year, the firm seized an opportunity to grow significantly during the pandemic, hiring six attorneys simultaneously.
